As much as I have enjoyed the freedom of working on my own projects, the sporadic nature of payment and the huge overhead of writing specifications and proposals does take the fun out a little. For now, I am going to do some slightly more consistent work by taking on a contract at a large company in the Netherlands. The work is mainly HTML and Javascript, but there should also be plenty of Flex in there too.  In light of this, I am relocating to Holland so may be without internet and blog writing time for a few days while I find a place to settle down. This will hopefully not upset my vast readership and the five of you who come and visit from time to time will be able to cope without my ramblings for a week or so :-)

It seems that writing a blog site and publishing all of my “libre” code has ultimately helped me to secure a role I really wanted. The amount of effort has been considerable, but I have learned a lot along the way. Probably the most important lesson I have learned is “always do something“, which rather succintly describes this article.

I have to finish off here, as there a piece of work I have to complete by tomorrow and I also need to pack my bags… wish me luck! Normal service will resume soon :-)

“Always do something”, that’s awesome, and the link is great too.
